Underground wine cellar in a kitchen?

Someone sent me this interesting email with pictures of a wine cellar. Now, being in the kitchen remodel business, it caught my attention rightaway.

The subject line in the email was kind of different — it was more to do with the wine than with the kitchen. So, after close examination, it appears that this is truly an underground wine cellar right in the middle of the kitchen. Wow.

Imagine walking right above your favorite wines all the time and knowing that they are just a couple of steps below you. I wonder who would want an underground wine cellar in a kitchen? But, then again, I have seen people wanting all sorts of features in their kitchen, most of which are totally practical.

But finding an underground wine cellar in a kitchen was a first for me and I found it too interesting to ignore.

I wonder what happens when you’ve had too much to drink and want to go fetch another bottle? For me, I prefer to stay on solid ground when I am 2 drinks away from a hangover !
